Tutorial Thursday: Rounded Image Corners

Today's tutorial will show you how to make rounded photo corners in photoshop.

I will be using this image to demonstate:

Open your image up in photoshop. You'll want to create a new layer.

Click on your Rounded Rectangle shape and set the radius to 40px (you can play around with this number depending on how rounded you want your corners to be).

Make a shape on your picture to the size you want the final image to be. Then with the shape layer selected, go to the paths tab.

Right click on the Shape and click on "Make Selection". This will bring up a window. Make sure it says what is shown in the screenshot below, and hit ok.

You should notice your rectangle shape has been selected. Press CTRL+SHIFT+I to invert the selection (or go to Select (at the top of the program) > Invert) and you should have what is selected below. Click on the picture layer and hit delete.

Unselect all (Ctrl+D) and delete your Rounded rectangle shape layer, and you will be left with the completed image. Easy right? :)

Nice tutorial, Jen! I was doing something similar, but I may do it this way from now on. :)
